Kate Jennes-Kahn How can an image express Jewish ideas? What can hands, gestures, objects or symbols tell the viewer about a particular mood? These are the questions that Kate attempts to answer through her drawings and other artistic endeavors. She finds inspiration from many sources for her work. Phrases from the Siddur; images drawn from her experience as a Jewish educator; Albrecht Durer's fascination with hands; all of these have generated one or another of Kate's more recent pieces. A life-long artist, she obtained her formal art education through a variety of classes and through her course-work in pursuance of her Associates Degree in Illustration from Montgomery College. In recent years, her work has been in a number of local shows as well as on display in several local synagogues. She has also been a member of ArtSites for a number of years. Prints of her drawings are available for purchase. Please contact her at the e-mail address given below. |
